This is a musical production and a magical one at that. I was a little hesitant to watch a movie of a Broadway play but all my fears were put to rest upon viewing it. Despite the fact that this is a stage performance recorded on film, it's engaging and draws you right in. Camera placement is perfect and you do not feel set apart and/or at a distance when watching this. Bookworm1 was introduced to Peter Pan through Cathy Rigby, actually. Disney came along shortly thereafter. He used to watch Rigby fly about the screen whenever he had the opportunity to choose a movie. The music is fun. The characters hilarious. It's a very fun viewing experience, in our opinion. And since you can't see Cathy Rigby perform live any longer, you are left with no other alternative but film and I think you might be surprised by how much you like it.
I found a DVD of this at our recent library book sale and snatched it right up! I would LOVE to pass it along to you and your family to enjoy together.
