Too many mentions of modern novels and I also thought that her attitude to home was irksome.
It isn't just me, then :) There are far better books about books, one of them being, in my opinion, 'Ex Libris: Confessions of a Common Reader' by Anne Fadiman. Quirky, bookish and definitely a fine family feel there.

Great blog, only just found it so the comment is a bit late!

Cheers.Phyllis Hunt McGowanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13370730851612587650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31647067.post-1155513761632721392006-08-13T17:02:00.000-07:002006-08-13T17:02:00.000-07:00I'm so glad you have discovered Peace Like a River...I'm so glad you have discovered Peace Like a River. (Not to mention the fact that she gives the ending away on some books.) Otherwise, it sounds like a fun read, and I might give it a try.Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09964373798194372154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31647067.post-1155437175264826972006-08-12T19:46:00.000-07:002006-08-12T19:46:00.000-07:00I've seen this book at Barnes and Noble, or somewh...I've seen this book at Barnes and Noble, or somewhere with piles and shelves of books anyway, and I did grin to myself. Now I'll have to read it!Skyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01446914963118461073noreply@blogger.com
