I have say that because of you my daughter's favorite books are The Mysterious Benedict Society. She has listened to the audio books over and over. For Christmas she received the 3 book set and she is thrilled!!!

I have to admit I'm a wimp when it comes to C.S. Lewis. I've only read one Narnia book and am too chicken to attempt his non-fiction.

Ooh good choices! Ive never read the Genesis book, but I like the other stuff I read by A.W. Pink and I pretty much love anything by C.S. Lewis. I want to read "The Mysterious Benedict Society" too-I think it's coming up on my plan soon (right now I am reading through School Library Journal's Top 100 children's novels.)

We love The Mysterious Benedict Society here, too! My daughter wrote a letter to the author, and she got a form letter back, but he added a personal note to the bottom. So cool!

We're participating in the Laura Ingalls Wilder challenge next month. I say we because we'll read Little House in the Big Woods aloud and do a unit study with it for our literature/history lessons. Nothing like killing 2 birds with one stone. :D

I saw the Mysterious Benedict Society on display at the library a few weeks ago. I smiled and thought of you. It made me want to check out the book, but then I remembered that I OWN it! :D

I am so happy you mentioned the LIW challenge! I kept thinking to myself that someone needed to have one!! Definitely partaking in it!

As far as C.S. Lewis goes...I have yet to read any of his works other than the Narnia series {which I also love and cannot wait to read it with my kids!}. I do have the Complete C.S. Lewis Signature Classics book that my MIL bought me and I am really hoping to get to it sometime this year! :)

I enjoyed The Mysterious Benedict Society. It eventually wound its way through my daughter and husband too. I love when we can all share a book.

The Problem of Pain is a good book. The Screwtape Letters is one of my favorite Lewis' books, and of course Mere Christianity. I need to re-read The Great Divorce because I don't think I really understood it the first time through.

Reading Lewis's non-fiction is very mentally exhausting to me, too, but very beneficial. I read Mere Christianity in my early blogging days and couldn't even review it -- I had pages and pages of quotes marked but even just a few of them created an extra-long post that I never published. I want to read that one again some day as well as some of his others.

I LOVE Problem of Pain, and I thought The Abolition of Man was prophetic. I didn't like Experiment in Criticism. (In case you can't tell, I'm jealous that you get to take this class!!)

Lewis' non-Narnian stuff is difficult for me, too! Even some of his other fiction leaves me scratching my head and wondering. What a wonderful opportunity, though, to take the class!
