I have a two year old boy. We read anything by Patricia Hubbell: Cars, Trains, Trucks. They are all great read-alouds as they rhyme! The illustrations are very unique and fun to look at. My older kids still like picture books read aloud as well. We read a fun one last night called "Little Pea" by Amy Krouse Rosenthal. We've also been enjoying some history picture books by Ingri & Edgar Parin D'Aulaire (Columbus, Leif the Lucky, Abraham Lincoln, Ola, Greek Myths, etc.)

Hey, I like to read aloud to myself. I don't do it all the time, but if I'm in a certain mood and reading a certain book, I'll do it. My favorite to read aloud is Scripture...especially the poetry.

Oh, Carrie, I'm so glad you participated! My girls have always loved Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb, and I can still hear it in my head. Brown Bear is always a winner, too. I really need to look into the other book you referenced. We're doing activities from Before Five in a Row, but your book sounds good, too.

These are favorites at our house, too. Logan loves Hand, Hand, Fingers Thumb, and also has much of it memorized. "Millions of monkeys drumming on drums." :)
