I remember reading the novel after seeing the play and being overjoyed that there was more to know about the Bishop.morninglight mamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04128926711800459894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31647067.post-86158860901222157222009-03-03T18:26:00.000-08:002009-03-03T18:26:00.000-08:00Loved your review, Carrie. I saw Les Mis on Broadway about eight years ago and it was fabulous. This was the first time I've read the book, and now there are things about the show that are so much clearer. The bishop is a wonderful character, but I Jean Valjean is my favorite...must be the "flawed hero" thing.Kipihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03561044314126052554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31647067.post-40747110320526548422009-03-03T14:55:00.000-08:002009-03-03T14:55:00.000-08:00Oh, I forgot, Thanks for posting the info about Hu...Oh, I forgot, Thanks for posting the info about Hugo. I love it - it gets better every single time one reads it. Two of my favorite quotes from the Bishop:

The guilty one is not he who commits the sin, but the one who causes the darkness.

Love one another: He declared that to be complete; he desired nothing more, and that was his whole doctrine.Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03418200517338216765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31647067.post-47231618186132936742009-03-03T13:56:00.000-08:002009-03-03T13:56:00.000-08:00Wonderful post about your favorite character.
