I'm exactly like you when it comes to the phone. I even have a dear friend who apologizes any time she calls me -- even though, of course, she's welcome to call. I love, though, when I have an amazing conversation -- makes the whole phone-thing worth it!

I just want to say thank you, Carrie, for such an awesome review...it was completely humbling!
And thank you, too, for saying so sweetly (and to the point) what it took me an entire book to say! I wanted to write this book, too, not just because of the awesome women in South Africa -- but also because of the awesome women we all have in our lives. Whether friends, relatives, mentors -- God seems to put them in our midst just when and how we need them most! Thanks to everyone for your interest! Hugs + blessings to you!

Funny you should mention this because I just watched The Gathering Storm yesterday (it finally came into the library, no one else had it) and have Into the Storm on my queue. It was an excellently made film. Looking forward to the next installment.

These were my favorite books when I was a child. They really added a lot to my knowledge, and familiarity of the Bible. Even now when I read certain texts, I can see the illustrations from a much read Arch book in my head.

I don't exactly hate the phone but it always seems to ring at an inconvenient time for me (and I refuse to pay $7 a month just so I can know who's calling). Or once I'm talking my kids lose their minds. So I don't spend a lot of time on the phone any more. Much prefer email.

I never used to hate talking on the phone, but I just realized I don't really like it any more. My mom and I used to talk for an hour at a time -- long distance. With most of my friends these days it's just a quick e-mail about making a time to get together. Maybe I just fell out of the habit. But the thought of being on the phone for long now unnerves me and makes me feel so tied down. I am glad you did answer that call, though!
