It's been AWHILE since I've participated in Booking Through Thursday. This week's questions are:
Are there any particular worlds in books where you’d like to live?
Or where you certainly would NOT want to live?
What about authors? If you were a character, who would you trust to write your life?
I would like to live on Prince Edward Island. You might say that doesn't count as another "world" but I do. It's a magical world, full of imagination and beauty. I visited it a few years back with a very, very good friend of mine. I made her take my picture as I got out of the car for the first time and set my actual foot on the actual soil. She was laughing at me. I was crying tears of joy. Pathetic MAYBE but I when I saw I really like Anne of Green Gables and her creator, I'm not kidding.
I don't know the answer to question number 2, so I'll skip it.
As for number three, that's an "important" question. My first thought was George Sayer. He wrote a biography on C.S. Lewis that I thought was superbly well-done. I think he would do a good job. Secondly, I might like Nancy Moser to write it. Then she can weave together all the facts with doses of fiction making me sound incredibly important, well-thought-out, etc., etc. You know - make me sound like someone you would absolutely want to know! Heh.
Ok, well, we all have dreams.

Can you imagine living in a world created by Tolkien? That would be something!
ReplyDeleteoh, I so agree that writers can make life sound so much richer. Sometimes I think that if I wrote out my day in the morning, it would sound so interesting. And I think if a writer got hold of my cooking, it would sound so much tastier, too.

I sometimes think it would be cool to live in the "world" of Jane Austen. At least if I went I'd want to be of the upper class. It wouldn't be too bad and those dresses seem like so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI think I would trust Charles Dickens to write me. He recognizes everyone is human. Though I don't know if I'd want to read what he wrote!

ReplyDeleteI think PEI would be a bit too cold for me in the winter. Now Tolkien's world would be cool! I've never really thought about this! I'm reading Just Jane right now, so I think having Moser write my story would be neat! :D
ReplyDeleteI had the same answer about PEI! I do think it counts, for sure. I really hope to get there some day, just for a visit, while living in my own world. :)
ReplyDeleteLiving in Anne's world would be great - but not in the winter. I find PEI winters so bone-aching cold (although I live in Nova Scotia which isn't much better) lol :)
