What's On My Nightstand

What's on My Nightstand? A WHOLE HEAPIN' LOT, that's what!

Because I'm participating in the Fall Into Reading Challenge (thanks to Callapidder Days) alot of these books are being read to satisfy the challenge. But I do have some books that I'm reviewing for 5 Minutes for Books that are not part of my personal challenge. What is immediately on my nightstand to be read (or that is currently being read):

Personal Pleasure/Fall Into Reading Challenge:

1. Wives & Daughters, by Elizabeth Gaskell

2. Three Cups of Tea, by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin - recommended by Sherry at Semicolon.

5 Minutes for Books reviews:

1. Brisingr, by Christopher Paolini!!!

2. Titanic's Last Secrets, by Brad Matsen

That's what's "on the stand" for today at any rate. What's on your nightstand?

Have you started 3 Cups of Tea? I thought it was a pretty good book, but the first 100 pages were so slow for me. It does pick up.

hey, Janet @ Across the Page is reading Elizabeth Gaskell too.

I've never read her, guess I need to check Gaskell out.

Yes, I just finished 'North and South.' It made me want to read another of Gaskell's novels - long and leisurely and good for the winter months.

I've seen lots of posts about 'Three Cups of Tea.' I'll be curious to read what you think of it.

I'm reading Jane Eyre, but you knew that. :-) I looove Wives and Daughters, and I have Cranford, too. Haven't finished Cranford yet... unfortunately I sometimes start a book, get distracted by another wonderful book and forget to finish the previous. Shameful, I know!

I have to read Gaskell. I've watched the BBC mini-series based on her books, and loved them (North &South, Wives & Daughters) but never read the books. I need the fix that problem. I can see a shopping trip in my future.

Happy reading!

My MIL read 3 Cups of Tea and loved it. You'll have to let us know what you think about it.
