Booking Through Thursday

This week's Booking Through Thursday asks for lists! Here are my answers:

1. Do you have a favorite author?

It's really becoming a toss up between Lucy Maud Montgomery and C.S. Lewis. I guess we'll say I have a favorite male and female author.

2. Have you read everything he or she has written?

I have read everything that L.M. Montgomery has written (and own it all also - with the exception of Jane of Lantern Hill which I loaned out to someone who never returned it!). I have not read everything by C.S. Lewis.

3. Did you LIKE everything?

I'm learning to sort of critique Montgomery which you'll see in some upcoming book reviews that I have in the works. As for C.S. Lewis . . . critique!? I don't think that well of myself. Do I LIKE everything he wrote? I find some of it too brainy for me. That's my only problem but it's mine and not his.

4. How about a least favorite author?

Well, William P. Young, of course!

5. An author you wanted to like, but didn’t?

Charles Dickens. But you know all about that.

Lewis and Montgomery are both comfort reads for me. Great choices!

Yep... I'm good with your choices, lol.

And Dickens has some great stories, but I do NOT like his writing style. So, I watch the movies! *G*

I'm up here. Happy BTT!

Love both your choices. I don't think I'm going to do BTT this week. I can't pick a favorite!

Interesting post. It was hard to pick one favorite author, I have so many. But, I managed to choose one. LOL

I've never read Montgomery I'm afraid! But I have always wanted to.

I never really liked Dickens too but he has grown on me.

I had to smile about your Lewis comments. I love him too but yes, sometimes he's a bit brainy and makes my head hurt. :)

I popped over and looked at your review of The Shack. I am beginning to resent the pressure to read it too. I bought it, started it and then decided I didn't want to finish. Now I have family members who want me to read it. Argh! They think I am just contrary. I should just read it and get it over with.

Oh I hate when I loan people books and they never return them! Very annoying.

I love Anne of Green Gables! But I didn't even think of Montgomery in my response. I picked Ricahrd Adams.

My daughter loved Montgomery too! The only Dickens book I made it through was A Christmas Carol.

I love your author picks. I could add them to my list but it just keeps growing:) The only book by Dickens that I actually liked was Bleak House.

Dickens is a difficult read and I think I've only read one of his.

C.S. Lewis - very heady.

My post is up now.

Yes, those are two of my favorite authors also. I am interested in your being able to critique Montgomery, I'm not there yet, but will be watching for this.

I didn't do this Thursday's question. I find it impossible to answer.

I enjoyed reading your post. I too like C.S, Lewis. I have always had difficulty reading Dickens but aren't his stories fasinating.

I like C.S. Lewis too. I'm reading one of his books right now, "Out of the Silent Planet." I haven't really gotten far enough in it to form an opinion yet.
