Nest Swap

Yes, I am WAY behind in sharing about the last Sister Shoebox Swap which was hosted by (the other) Carrie and Monica last month. I've participated in the swap before and have absolutely loved it! It's fun to make new bloggy friends and receive special surprises in the mail. I have a good reason for being behind in posting this - I've been rockin' a newborn. But I still wish I had been a bit quicker. I figured it would be nice to kick off the week by noting the special blessings I received from my swap partner this go-round.

The last swap's theme was "Nest" and Carrie and Monica encouraged us to find ways to spruce up and make our "nests" (i.e., our homes) special and inviting this season. This time I was paired up with Angie (who does not have a blog so I cannot lead you to it) and boy was I surprised to receive her box in the mail! It arrived right before Bookworm3 was born and so my apologies in the delay of sharing this and linking up to Carrie's Show and Tell post. I'm hoping that this "better late than never" post will be forgiven me, for I absolutely loved and adored everything that Angie sent for my family to enjoy.

For starters, I opened her package and there were two boxes inside. I opened the first box and didn't make it to the second for some time after because it took me awhile to pick my jaw up off the floor. Behold, the wonder:

For those of you who participated in this last Lucy Maud Montgomery Reading Challenge, you might recognize this set of Anne pop-up books that Stephanie reviewed. I was totally green with envy that she had managed to find copies of these books at the time and had visions of owning them myself some day. There is simply no way to express how shocked, surprised, BLESSED and filled with glee I was to see these books! (And barely a decent way to say thank you, I might add!!!)

Eventually I DID open the rest of the box and found the following items:

* Another edition of Anne of Green Gables (I collect them and this is a fun little hardback book in a slip case!)
* Spring plates for a picnic
* Homemade note cards
* A "Tea and Teatime Recipe book
* A notepad to use for the babysitter
* An Easter garland (not pictured)
* A crafty clipboard
* Spinning tops for the boys (not pictured because they are in use!)
* Spring-themed cookie cutters (Alas! Also not pictured.)

* Flip flops (excellent for an upcoming beach trip!)
* Chocolate (who could possibly object?!)

* And homemade bookmarks - which I can never have enough of. On the back of each bookmark she included quotes, including one by Lucy Maud Montgomery and one by C.S. Lewis. Me thinks she studied me WELL when putting this box together and I have been very blessed as a result of her thoughtfulness and attention to detail!

Thank you, Angie, for everything that you put together for me. You were a wonderful swap partner and I was glad for the chance to get to know you and your family, even a little bit.

To see more swap boxes, visit this post over at Carrie's.

Thank you, Swap Box Sisters, for hosting this again! I love it!

I am amazed at how God is involved in the minute details of our lives. Only He could orchestrate you receiving a book set you had longed for.
So glad you enjoyed my humble offerings for your nest.
Wishing you flip flop weather!

Wow, what a wonderful package, and so "you"! Angie must've studied you well or must've been reading your blog a long time!

I'm amazed she was able to find those pop up books! I scoured the internet and couldn't find them for a decent price. Happy reading, my friend!

Carrie,

So glad you joined us for another swap, and how lovely that you received some Anne items for your collection. As far as show and tell, better late than never. (And you certainly had a good reason!)
